What works:

The device works with Mint Network Connections manager.

What doesn't work:

It does not work with the manufacturer/carrier application.

What was done to make it work:

1. Install usb-modeswitch
2. Edit the usb-modeswitch.conf
3. Edit the 15-Huawei.rules
4. Configure Mobile Broadband connection.
5. Enable Mobile Broadband connection.
6. Initiate Mobile Broadband connection.
