What works:

Printer works right out of the box! Easier set-up for this printer than with Windows Vista, for printing.

What doesn't work:

"Simple Scan" doesn't do a good job of detecting all-in-one scanner/printers. Was not able to detect scanner portion of NX415.

What was done to make it work:

Went to Epson web site download Linux drivers. Was redirected to Avasys website to download drivers and software (.deb files) at http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/spc/DL2.do

Downloaded and installed data package (AMD64) first and then core package. The program "Image Scan! for Linux" works great! I was able to scan and save a various types of files. "Image Scan" only works for Epson scanners.
