 premium optical wheel mouse

Brand: Logitech (Mouse)
Back

Release: Lisa
Status: Doesn't work as expected

Owner:
interferenc

What works:

All buttons work

What doesn't work:

When scrolling fast in firefox, it goes forth/back in history. Sometimes it happens when i scroll just one click. Apparantly (see notes) xorg -or whatever component replaced that- recognizes fast scrolling as horizontal scrolling, which firefox responds to with going back and forth in history. VERY ANNOING!!!

What was done to make it work:

I found a way to disable the behaviour in firefox. (see link in notes) This is just a workaround, as the same happens in the file manager. At least now I can live with it. Found someone stating the kvm switch is the cause.

Additional notes:

seems to be an old bug, see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/31827
The fix there won't help as i cannot find /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Maybe the problem doesn't happen anymore as most people use usb mouses now?

On my windows PC the mouse has been working perfectly for some years and still does.
Could it be related to PS/2? (I am using a ps/2 to usb adapter, a usb mouse to a ps/2 connector on the switch/motherboard that is)
