Can we get a reasion from the mint developers why we have so many Terminals?

Curently Mint LXDE has Xterm, UXterm, and LX Terminal. It not only seems redundent, but it takes up to many menu icons.

P.S.

I already made an idea to get ride of 2 of the 3 terminals. This idea is just to find out why the developers have so many Terminals.

First of all there

xterm - Terminal of the X windows system. Should be keept, since its independent of the DE

uxterm - Same as xterm, but with Unicode support. You couldn't just say: "Oh, let's just switch xterm to UTF-8 and watch older programs output crash."

lx Terminal - Terminal of the LXDE. The desktop enviroment don't like to offer only the fancy, old and unflexible xterm, but a modern, flexible Terminal well fitting with the other DE parts.

+1 for the, ask in the forum. Or why not have the discussion in your original "get rid of some terminals" thread.

As for UXterm, maybe it would be needed by some users, because it supports Unicode (UTF-8) environments.
"uxterm - X terminal emulator for Unicode (UTF-8) environments"
