Idea:

Cinnamon has one major Reason i don't use it even if it looks great and has almost everything:
"Open with" now allows only "installed Software" or "Search in Internet", that's bad, because i like static Software like Blender who runs perfectly out of the Box(By that i mean out from extracted .tar.bz2 what you can download at http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/) even when the whole other Linux Stuff don't work anymore and on the other Hand it can not break the System in any Way because it does not install or change anything! :)

1 year ago	joelz	I don't why this is a problem. I would think, of course "open with" only works for installed programs and search the net.
1 year ago	MAD-OVERLORD	Okay, thanks alot man, so i will give the Cinnamon Edition of Maya again a Chance if the MATE continues to make me unhappy in Terms of how it looks(It's nice but in no Way i get it Shiki-Wise like and Compiz also not behave as it was in Mint11) :)
1 year ago	MAD-OVERLORD	With static Skype and others i can imagine, but i didn't tested it since MATE does the Job for me, but i have to say, i really would like to use Cinnamon because i can get it much more looking like my old and so beloved Shiki-Wise Theme :) Does any one here knows a REAL Alternative for this beautiful eye friendly Shiki-Wise Theme on new Maya with MATE? I made one that come close, but somehow when i activate Compiz, the Theme falls back to a theme that looks like a Windowborder Theme called "Simple" :(
1 year ago	MAD-OVERLORD	Hello my friend, maybe it is, because you installed it, as far as i understand what you say. My point was "because i like static Software like Blender who runs perfectly out of the Box" that means i don't install Blender out of repository, because they sadly not update Blender that much it would deserve there, and because Blender works absolutely perfect on every System out of the BOX, by that i mean out from extracted .tar.bz2 what you can download at http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/ What has the ultimate advance that you break nothing in your system because it has the most things it needs in itself(Python/FFMPEG/etc. except glibc 2.7 but never had problem with that), what also again has the more advance that Blender ever works even if most of the systems software is broken because of an incompatible Python/FFMPEG update or whatever, really when nothing works anymore, blender still does and it would be great if Linux Mint maybe would make its core parts static like Blender is, i mean we have gigantic disc space today and even if i install a 100softwares who had ~10mb more because they're static, this Gb of mem would be a minimal price for that extrem stability :) Personal info, as i see in your profile you would have fun with the game engine i think, we can easy make robots and everything else there. I'm now on making skinned ragdolls, but there i found the first weakness in Blender since years(Physics goes postal out of nothing when limbs limits are set to 90° so set it to 88or89° then Blender is the most perfect and useful piece of Software i know in the free and open source world)
