@kazztan0325 I agree - nemo was developed by Mint for Cinnamon and caja was developed by the MATE team for MATE. File Managers usually are deeply integrated with the desktop. For example, you can't remove nautilus and keep gnome (at least without a lot of hacking). So each desktop has a file manager that is required for good integration (Xfce with thunar, KDE with dolphin, MATE with caja, Cinnamon with nemo, and Gnome with Nautilus). Mint has developed a file manager for its desktop, however, so this has been implemented. The exception to what I wrote is that I believe (not certain) thunar, pcmanfm (in lxde), etc are to some degree modular. |

Cinnamon has Nemo file manager, MATE has Caja file manager, these are folks from Nautilus, are not Mint original file manager though. I think this idea's status may be changed to Implemented..., Does my thought have something wrong/mistake? |

I think most of these suggestions are good. Don't care so much about the folder naming thing, because I always date my files and folders with YYYY-MM-DD. I prefer a simple sort logic before one that tries to be smart and messes up my sorts in places where it isn't helpful. One feature that a new file manager also could benefit from is having a pause/copy function for long copy and move operations. http://community.linuxmint.com/idea/view/2927 http://community.linuxmint.com/idea/view/2132 |

I think @MAD-OVERLORD you have right, but nautilus need only more features. A better integration from nautilus in mint is good.

@remoulder I think this is an idea - making a file manager that has certain features that MAD-OVERLORD has suggested be added to nautilus. If the poster removed those links and made a bulletted list of what he wanted in the file manager, would it then be an idea in your eyes? |

@remoulder: You're not quite right, it's even the other Way round, the Summary of my other Posts led to this Idea, because i now know from the Exchange with more constructive People here, that Nautilus is responsible for nearby all my Problems with Mint and i just don't care about also making Accounts there when i see that the brillant Mint Team could easily made their own File Manager many times better and earning even more Fame with that :) |

This is not an idea so much as a summary of your other posts

Maybe this could be achieved by working on Mate's Nautilus fork (Caja). Promoting because I saw what Mint's team can do when they fork something. |
