Idea:

I do like to test Linux distros.

And Sabayon 1000 Hz kernel configuration for desktop use is my favorite kernel.

Ubuntu has a low latency kernel you can install

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-lowlatency
sudo apt-get install linux-lowlatency
sudo update-grub

But, I do not why, the sabayon settings make the system faster, at least at my AMD64 Athlon x3 computer with 64 bits kernels.

As simple as to copy sabayon kernel settings and make an alternative mint kernel, and if it go as well as the sabayon one make it the default one.

Is the sabayon kernel faster or just sabayon itself? Sabayon is based on gentoo, whereas mint is based on ubuntu. My guess is that Sabayon's faster simply because Ubuntu is much more bloated.

@mitcoes:
I would like to ask you...

How could we copy sabayon kernel settings and make an alternative mint kernel?
