@remoulder Why do you always demote others? I have never seen you promoting ANY of the idea. The most of the default things chosen by mint team are outdated and your saying that they are sensible is a big joke. As mint is user friendly distro, users try to improve it by giving their suggestions and this is the sign that most of the users want change in its looks.

@quake Keep it up man. Completely agreed with you.

Its Million times better than default one and should be default. If this could not be the default, some other SENSIBLE should be selected.

This should be added to mint 14.

It all depends upon Clem. Only Clem can decide for default softwares, effects, tweaks, etc.

It's nice, I just not see why it has to be default.

@remoulder does have a point. unless you design your own OS u can have everything you want on it, if you're using someone else's OS, there's going to be things individual users are going to want to change for their preferences.

Remoulder don't assume every one believes mint chose sensible defaults to meet the needs of the majority of users, and fancy themes and effects are unlikely to ever meet that criteria.

@quake0: looking at the list of so called ideas you have submitted, 99% appear to be suggesting mint defaults to your idea of customization. Perhaps you should realize that you are free to customize the appearance and software on your installation as you wish, and stop expecting everyone else to want the same as you! The mint team try to choose sensible defaults to meet the needs of the majority of users, and fancy themes and effects are unlikely to ever meet that criteria.

Very nice, and personally I think I prefer it. But I'm not convinced it should be the default for mint.
