Idea:

i think it is good idea that linux mint release server distribution
my experience story:
i have hp proliant dl380 g7 server in university and with debian & ubuntu distribution i could not connect to local network!
but with linux mint i can. it is very good reason that i migrate to linux mint for my server

This has been suggested before and the reasoning remains the same that Mint is an alternative DESKTOP distro. A server does not need desktop improvements so there would be no difference to using ubuntu server or debian.

Mint does not have sufficient developer resources to create new edtions at this time.
