Idea:

As I am writing this, I am fairly upset with Canonical and Red Hat as they have sold out to Microsoft. Therefore, I may upset some Mint users; however, if we are going to be true to the concept of Open Source and GNU + Linux, we have to consider this in my view. I have been using LMDE for about six months and I think it is faster than the standard Linux Mint. Granted Debian has its problems from a basic user stand point (like issues with Wine); however, it is in many ways better and Debian has not sold out the GNU + Linux community.

We need independence! is time, go away from ubuntu, we need to stop being Ubuntu fresh distro, to just Linux Mint.

Linux Mint from freedom came elegance.

You might want to substantiate your findings with Canonical and Red hat before posting. Besides this is not an Idea rather an opinion.
