Thanks for the explanation. I understand there might be implementation difficulties, I just don't know how the internal mechanisms are to note the applications' used files... i thought if Windows does it so well it shouldn't be impossible. However, if you make this feature optionnal, then you don't impose the negative footprint to every user. As for the menu clutter, it could be easily solved by putting the recent file lists in a submenu. |

the idea is pretty good, the problem as @vincentv shared is implementation, having a daemon behind you longing everything you do (there is already enough of those...) and @vincentv have a tutorial on how to stop Zeitgeist http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/1018 |

I would appreciate that those who demoted this comment about why they think it's not a good idea. Personnaly I do not understand why anyone could NOT want this. In the worst case, it wouldn't bother anyone. I hope it's not because it exists in Windows 7. That another DE adopted it first is not a good reason to refuse adopting a good idea. |
