Idea:

There are some websites like LinAPP and PenguSpy dedicated towards commercial games and programs for Linux.

We should also consider programs like VueScan from Hamrick (www.hamrick.com) which enabled my Benq scanner to work up to its highest resolution. Sane wouldn't work (and quite often will only cover basic resolutions on many scanners) and, it is good to have an application in Linux that works, even if it is closed and you have to pay for it.
