Rejected. The ISOs are being respun with the Xhost fix.

The XFCE isos might also get bluetooth added.

Known limitations:

  • If you log out and log back in, you'll probably be on a different display. That's ok.. as long as you run applications in user mode. If you try to run them as root or using sudo, it will fail because you don't have the right to the display. To work around this, simply type "xhost +" to give root the rights to your display. Long-term, if this proves to be a usability problem and provided it's ok in regards to security, we might open the displays by default.
  • Due to time limitations, Bluetooth support was out of the scope for this release and so it does not work outside of the box. Feel free to chose between the different bluetooth solutions available (bluez, gnome-bluetooth, mate-bluetooth) to see which one works best for you.
  • VLC doesn't work in live mode. It runs fine once the system is installed. If you need to run VLC from the live media itself, you can use the following workaround: "sudo ln -s / /filesystem.squashfs"
  • The boot sequence shows some errors in relations to mounting the squashfs or finding some modules. These are cosmetic only and can be ignored.
  • XFApplet works with Gnome 2 applets and not with MATE applets (such as mintMenu).
  • cups-pdf is highly unstable and it was removed from the ISOs. Most applications can still print to PDF however, including Firefox, gedit/pluma, LibreOffice.. so this isn't really an issue.
  • Sometimes the MATE session fails to theme itself properly and shows up with ugly looking panels and icons. This is due to a race condition with MDM and usually only happens in live mode. There are a number of workarounds for this. If it happens rarely, simply retheme the session by typing "mate-settings-daemon" and "killall caja". If the problem persists, you can add a "killall gnome-settings-daemon" and a "killall mate-settings-daemon" in the PreSession's default script for MDM. Alternatively you can switch to GDM3.
