I have found the "Browse C:\" does not work until you run "Configure Wine". I dont know if some of all of the files are copied from elsewere or generated.

The kernel is not installed but I think when ubiquity installs extra lang packages it "fixes" the fact there is now a broken meta package....? try an off line install and it does not install.

have not found the "Ubuntu is running in low graphic mode" related file could it be in a binary?

Summary:

  • install mint-local-repository-x64
  • remove nspluginwrapper and flashplugin-installer
  • look into the two kernels (2.6.32.21 is used by the liveCD, looks like you upgraded the APT cache and installed 2.6.32.23 as well). If the solution isn't trivial, simply ignore it. This isn't a problem in itself, it just looks tidier for the OS to come with a single kernel by default.
  • Fix Menu->Help, should refer to KDE, not Kubuntu (this is fixed in your i386 version)
  • Fix "Browse C:\" (this is fixed in your i386 version too)
  • Fix .disk/ info and release notes URL
  • If possible change "Ubuntu is running in low graphic mode" to "Linux Mint is running in low graphic mode" (this is something we didn't pay attention to in the past, if you can fix it now, then great, if not, then we'll tackle it for Mint 10).

I can observe two kernels installed by default, it's not really an issue though.

Note for Mint 10: Launch feedback should be removed.

  • nspluginwrapper and flashplugin-installer should not be installed. 64-bit versions of Mint use only mint-flashplugin-x64

/etc/xdg/user-dirs.defaults points the download destination to Desktop. I don't see a problem with that, but it would be better if it was coherent across editions, we should probably tackle this for Mint 10.

  • Release notes URL for Ubiquity point to kubuntu.org...

I was careful not to add any other kernels but it could be like the 32bit version that automaticlly installs the pae kernel on mine at times...

Not in test but after install of Nvidia Proprietary driver via Jockyand reboot nvidia driver failed to load. Had to boot from backup config. I am sure I can get it to load with tweaking. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Not sure if a big issue but all folders in home folder were there accept for downloads. Easy enough to fix so did not fail this test.

Had issue with booting default startup from Live CD session, I would get message that booting to low res mode but when it did boot up the resolution was correct for my monitor 1680x1050. Live mode worked fine so I am not sure why I got this message.

Result:  Warning

All other boot options worked fine. I did not have this issue on the last KDE ISO I tested.

@Boo Install with custom partitioning went fine but when I booted after install 2 diferent versions of Kernel installed for Mint 9 KDE. I am not sure if this was done purposly or not. I need to know if this was correct for install, if not I should fail this test. Please advise.

Kernels installed: 2.6.32-21 generic

                                 2.6.32-23 generic
