• Startup manager bug: doesn't parse menuentry properly (same on both archs)

@Suhana: Message read, reply sent privately. I hope you're back in the team soon and you can overcome your frustration.

Issues found:

• getdeb key is missing
• hardinfo is missing its comment
• gnome's icon theme is branded
• moonlight is missing
• playback issues with WMV
• branded Ubuntu invite below /etc/issue message
• update manager can't see changelogs
• update manager process doesn't end when quitted

Some comments:

• It was an unusual move for Ubuntu to come up with an empty screen in Ubiquity, with only a link to the release notes. It's definitely weird-looking, but then again, I'm reluctant to bring further modifications to this installer.
• The APT index is missing to gain space on the CD. We'd have to get rid of Gimp or something big otherwise... It gets rebuilt when needed so it only impacts the initial performance of APT the first time you use it.
• Java comes with the DVD edition.
• I'll provide md5 and sha256 sigs with the releases from now on. On the system itself, we're keeping the md5 integration. It's not the best, but it's both fast and reliable (ok, everything is relative of course) and it's become quite standard by now.

Verdict: Pass. This ISO is going towards an RC release.

VirtualBox 3.2.10 is needed for Guest additions to install completely.

Also the Update Manager still doesn't quit completely.  It's still running if you look in System Monitor.

Shane: I tried it actually :) In this release the background is heavily branded and I thought going for an unbranded menu gave the desktop a little more elegance.

Just a small suggestion... Wouldn't it be better to have the Mint logo as the default menu icon? If you want a uniform look, maybe then a monochrome Mint logo?

I only got a quick look at this before work yesterday but it looks very good. My Wife's Grandmother went into the hospital for hip replacement and was not doing very well because of other problems. We were told this morning that her kidneys had started working again and she spoke a little.

• getdeb was down while building this ISO, so the key isn't present.
• ubuntu icon instead of gnome one for the gnome icon theme in appareance->themes->customize->icons
