• First time you click the black area I get sound, after that no sound. This does not occur in windows. So must be lava linux issue. Just wanted to know if you have heard of this. Does not matter if the distro version is x86 or x64 they both have seen this issue.

UPDATE: Installed java plugina dn test passed. Updated multimedia support test.

Java isn't installed by default on the CD ISO, you need to upgrade to the DVD edition, or to install sun-java6-plugin.

I'll test the DVD playback again, just to make sure.

Plymouth issue is upstream, it's been there since Ubuntu 10.04. It's not hard to fix for the user, but it's quite difficult to implement a solution distro-wide. I'll make sure to add the link to the release notes (at the moment we've got a link to a tutorial which recommends using startupmanager.

Additional Notes: ATI & Nvidia Plymouth splash issue fix

• I have tested this fix for the ugly plymouth splash issue when the ATI or Nvidia proprietary driver is installed and it fix the issue for me. The steps are listed at this link:

Warning for DVD Playback

• Audio and Video play back was visible but Video was jummpy.
• Placed another DVD in and movie player came up but again same issue with video
• No issue with audio at all
• Installed Nvidia drivers and still same issue. Ran all updates from Mint update still same issue.
• Disabled Compiz and still same issue.
• Installed VLC and ran DVD from VLC with no jummpy video.

Please disregard the WMV playback issues (upstream). Also, Moonlight was not included in this release for stability reasons.
