Well Clem I swapped out the power suply, used another power cord and plugged PC into another outlet and still no power. I am no hardware expert but the only thin left would be the mother board may be bad. So I figure this PC is old and if I need a new motherboard I will be better off just buying a budget PC to test with.

I installed using French language, no problems.

I will try and get the localized install tested. Sorry to hear about your test machine, hope it is fixable.

Ok so my test computer has seen its last day, it died on me during the localized installation, all I can tell you is I selected spanish and the install menu was indeed in spanish, I am sure it would have worked fine but now I am not able to power on the PC to try again. if someone could please finish the testing. I am going to have to see if I can get it running again. Sorry for the delay in testing.

there are 2 print to file printers. the first is auto generated by cups. the second is ours and says print to pdf in home dir.

I do not like auto start anything.

I am not going to put a local repository, I will install most of the local repo appst though. if not all. some may be over kill.

Ok i have worked out the apt policy error. updated package.

After installing proprietary driver (nvidia) boots into normal desktop. 

Live cd boots in low graphics mode only, but when it completes it appears to be normal resolution.

Background is black; along with dark (black theme) cannot see plasma.

Selected different background very slow to change. Can get back to the Linux Mint 10 standard background by reselecting that background. 

On install new (standard) background persisted until the reboot; then same behavior as the Live cd - back to the black background. Desktop setting shows this as the Mint 2 logo (a little binary humor). Selecting a new light background and then selecting the standard is the only way to see the desktop. 

The graphics card is this machine is an Nvidia 7600GS. 

Marked as a warning due to the beyond dark presentation.

I can not do Intell chipset test I do not have a PC with that chipset.

Mint4Win removed from ISO so past test.

Mint update was in system tray but no update to install.

DVD Playback, movie did play in VLC but did not auto start.

F1 would not bring up help content. Did test in Live session and after hardware install.

PDF Printed but saved in document folder, I believe it should save in home folder directly. Placed warning for this test.

For mint-local-repository test, it is not installed. If this should not be in KDE version please update test to reflect this.
