No WMV, Silverlight expired, FLV is just the same still with music. And Quicktime is well quicktime cache intensive. Had to pause and let the cache fill to play through.

The ExpoBlending app is missing the same dependancies as the 32 bit edition and will not launch.

After installing I was unable to log in with the fallowing error:

Kstartupconfig4 does not exist or fails. The error code is 3.

I installed with a localized setup. I installed with a custom partition setup and I installed using one preexisting /home and one root partition that was formatted, both were ext4. I also had a swap partition. Other than that I can't think of anything off the top of my head that is important.

First impressions:

• Background is black by default.
• When starting applications, there is a box blinking between black and white around the application icon by the mouse. This is a known bug in KDE and has not been fixed because it's deemed to be an issue with drivers. Whatever the cause, it is ugly and will be apparent on computers having an ATi graphics card running the Open Source drivers.
• The background of the installer: I assume it's not by your making. But is it really neccicery to have it being a full screen application?

The background does not change for "open as root" in KDE.

I marked open as root as warning because I actualy opened a folder as root but the background color did not change.

Ok, have this figured out now. I used xrender instead of opengl, set the animation speed to fast and everything seems quick and the opengl screen savers work fine now. I am using nvidea graphics with the proprietary driver, other graphics cards may have completely different results. This all comes down to is the user might have to change the default settings for their graphics card, it's not really a bug or somthing that could be set as a default.

I was checking out screen savers in the 32 bit version and noticed they were real choppy. I switched desktop effects to use xrender instead of OpenGL and the screen savers work fine now. This appears to be a common problem.

They should remain enabled for a consistent experience across the board with the regular Mint version.  They should also ensure they meet the minimum requirements for the iso and they have the performance to use compiz or disable it.

There will also not be two isos with two different KDE versions.  That is confusing and not an easy maintenance for a developer.  Not to mention it takes time to respin with an entirely different base.

ok will do thanks it needs to be set that way on the iso to begin with or at least put in the release notes to do that so other people wont complain it is too slow also

Try changing your desktop effects animation to "Fast". I set mine to "Instant" and everything seems very responcive.

this version with 4.6 seems slow to me you should release the ones with 4.5.5 and then release these with 4.6 with people that want 4.6

Passed mint4win because it is not going to be used in this release.
