Can we get the last few tests done? So far, this looks like a release to me.

I'm tempted to let it go. For two reasons:

    - I can see this problem is present in Ubuntu (on forums and on the Web) and other distros

    - I can see people reporting this problem in both RCs, yet, the overall feedback was extremely positive

I'm away at the moment with no access to the Internet, so it's hard for me to test Lubuntu. I'll try my best to get some kind of access in the next few days.

How prevalent is the 855gm in the market at this point? Also would you mind testing Lubuntu 11.04 on it? This image is built from the Gnome DVD edition, just with Gnome and a bunch of apps stripped out and LXDE and a few apps throws in. Fairly certain I didn't touch any of the lower level configuration.

I upgraded to the latest kernel using a chroot.... same thing, can't boot it.

Testing with multiple boots went fine on my testing laptop. It's Intel equipped. Not sure about the exact model but I'll find out when I get off of work. I got frustrated with just about every VM so I'm only doing testing on actual systems at this point.

^^ This is interesting, I've got a 855gm as well.

The GDM issue isn't a problem. It can be disregarded.

However, I'm observing a critical issue here on an Intel system. Live session works fine. Installation is successful. 1st boot works ok. Upon the second boot, the loading sequence stays black and halts after a while, no error message.

Can you guys verify that you can boot the installed system more than once, using the menu reboot, on a real computer?

Hopefully it's something to do with my laptop.. but then, I can't understand why the first boot would work and the consequent ones wouldn't.

Passing Intel chipset as I've verified it to work on two systems.

I got rid of the duplicate apps on startup. Occasionally mintUpdate will load twice, but that's usually after logging out and back in again. PrintScreen now launches the screenshot app as opposed to doing nothing.

The only big issue I see with it is the mouse cursor theme in GDM. I've tried everything to get it set to DMZ-White, however it doesn't seem to be sticking. If someone figures out a fix, I'll apply it and spin up another .iso. Is this something we can mention in the release notes?

Outside of that, everything appears to be in good order as best as I can tell.
