Leafpad is a simple GTK+ based text editor with user interface similar to Notepad. It aims to be lighter than Gedit and KWrite, and to be as useful as them.

Lightweight and efficient. A small issue though: When a file is open in Leafpad, and you try to open it again, it will open in a new window with no warning. Any changes are lost except those made in the last file closed.

good one and lightweighted(replica of notepad), but not a replacement to gedit.
