1 OO.o was the reason I couldn't recommend Linux to most people. It was just awful. Libre Office is headed in the right direction. Try there.

5 If you replace Open Office with LibreOffice as I mentioned below, (above), whatever, you can use it on a Microsoft System (if you want to be in a prison environment) or on your Macbook -fi you have one since It caters for all operating systems. It doesn't have the ribbon that Microsoft uses in Office 7 and 10 but as this is essentally a tabbed area, it is only a matter of time before LibreOffice adds this feature to itself, also!

2 It's not a bad office suite, but the Libre Office fork is faster, smoother and truly free (as in speech as well as beer). I think that Libre Office is the default in Mint 11

4 good, but we must encourage people to use ODF format because DOC/DOCX are not 100% readable (because Micosoft don't respect standards)

jt_morris
3 It's not bad. In fact, if MS Office 2003 - 2010 didn't exist, then this would be a really good office suite. But MS Office is MUCH smoother and more streamlined, and has more features. Overall, this is an acceptable office suite, especially for the price (free), but it trails behind the competition.

5 It's AWESOME! It slowly became a WONDERFUL alternative to MS Office, and the only reason I would choose Office from this is because of the VB macro scripting (Where it is possible to design full applications in an easy to learn programming language. Sorry if I'm advertising...).
