Type Chinese

1)Open Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T)

2)Type in   sudo apt-get install ibus

3)Let it run

4)Type in   sudo apt-get install ibus-libpinyin

View Chinese

1)Go to System setting

2)Find Language

3)Click on Chinese

4)Apply system-wide

5)The display language will be Chinese

6)It's unlike with Windows which can remain the display language and display chinese when app. is needed~

Noted that Chrome in Linux can display Chineses but the tab still can't display~

This didn't work for me, unfortunately. I installed gcin from the Software Manager instead, then followed your instructions above (substituing IBus for gcin as preferred input method), and that worked.
