simple way :
1-change in a folder other than the basic colors of black:
open 'folder' :
<>click'Edit'-'Backgrounds and Emblems ...'
<>drag & drop the color you want into 'folder'.
    
 
2-add 'new panel':
<>Right click on the panel-click'new panel'-in'properties' click'general'(orientation),select'right'-select'auto hide'&'Show hide buttons'.
<>Change the color = click'background'-click'solid color'-select the color you want.
    
 
3-add icon to 'new panel':
<>Right click on the panel-click'add to panel'-selact'menu bar'=add-select'trash'=add-select'Disk Mounter'=add-select'workspace switcher'=add----also add synaptic packagemanager (in the application launcher).
4-add 'system monitor' in the bottom panel:
<>click 'add to panel'-'system monitor', 'add'.
                                     
 
5-add display memory (RAM):
<>Right click on 'system monitor'-preferences-click/select 'memory'.

yes true,and much better than me in the modify display their desktop. but at least I wanted to show a simple my way.
eg : basic-black color change (for more bright).
and the viewing (system monitors) icon shown, it is important to find out why our computer to be slow, because of its processor or because his memory (ram).
