In 2008 I started using Linux as my main OS on the desktop. First version was Ubuntu 804, follwed by some other, newer versions, till Ubuntu decided to use Gnome 3 and build their own Unity. Two things I hated so much that I decided to change to the KDE desktop.

Also around that time I made the switch to Mint and have used it ever since, always using the KDE desktop.

Would love to use LMDE with KDE but since that flavor does not exist I use Mint KDE on my desktop and since recently SolydK, based on LMDE but with KDE desktop, on my laptop.

Love using Linux because it gives a real feeling of freedom: not having to do with the computer what some "dictator" tells me to do, no anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware scanners which slow down the computer. No, now I am in control and can use the full force for those things I want to do with it.

"On a new install I immediately uninstall it and replace it with Clementine. So much easier to use, doing what it needs to do: play music."
