Dell (Laptop or Netbook)
Mint (older version)
Works fine with some minor problems
What works:
Live CD check, memtest86+1.70, normal and failsafe modes, installation, wireless networking with an Intel 2200 card in infrastructure mode.
Suspend and Hibernate worked after manual adjustments.
What doesn't work:
Mint 5 will not connect to ad-hoc wireless networks, infrastructure only.
What was done to make it work:
Suspend and Hibernate worked after adding the user to the powerdev group, as recommended in Ubuntu forums.
Additional notes:
Same hardware as Inspiron 8100.
Intel 815m chipset, Nvidia 440go AGP, dual optical drives, mercury lid switch.
