  HP Compaq (Laptop or Netbook)
  Mint (older version)
Works fine with some minor problems
What works:

Live CD, memtest86+ 1.70, installation, wireless networking with an Intel card in infrastructure mode, power management after adjustments.

What doesn't work:

Mint 5 won't obtain an IP address when connecting to ad-hoc wireless networks.
Lid switch is ignored. It remains on no matter what is selected in Power Preferences (works with winXP).

What was done to make it work:

Suspend function worked after adding the user to the powerdev group, as reported in Ubuntu forums.
I don't have Hibernation enabled on this particular install.

Additional notes:

Intel 915gm chipset with integrated graphics, mechanical lid switch.
