  Asus (Custom-built PC)
Works fine with some minor problems
What works:

so far seems like everything worked right off the bat from install, Linux Mint Debian 12.04 MATE-Cinnamon-Xfce

What doesn't work:

The VGA output quit working on me when I misdiagnosed a monitor problem.

What was done to make it work:

updated the integrated ATI Radeon HD4250 from AMD website but that caused me to even lose the boot splash screen. Uninstalled the AMD update and installed the flxgr (or something like that?) from the Synaptic Package Manager which restored the boot splash screen but still get the "input out of range" message instead of Log On splash screen. The HDMI port works but the monitor isn't hdmi (i plugged pc into hdmi tv for troubleshooting).

Additional notes:

I don't know how to get the VGA port working now.
