  Samsung (Laptop or Netbook)
  Mint (older version)
Works fine with some minor problems
What works:

almost all stuff

What doesn't work:

the screen brightness control with Fn+arrow buttons.

What was done to make it work:

I used the second answer at

gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub
Find the line which says GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
enter acpi_backlight=vendor between the quotes ("")
sudo update-grub
reboot your laptop / pc

Additional notes:

Wi-fi sometimes doesn't turn on when netbook wake up after being sent to hibernate state with disabled wi-fi.
The problem with wi-fi was solved by using Broadcom STA driver (bcmwl-kernel-source, broadcom-sta-common, broadcom-sta-source packages were installed)

Update: Power Managenet function in bcmwl-kernel-source driver doesn't work well. WiFi connection degrades once power cord is disconnected. For more info read please:

Finally I solved the problem with wi-fi.
