What works:

Everything works!

Things that work "out of the box", including:
-All external drives (USB, CD ROM)
-Onboard audio and video
-Native applications (GIMP, Nautilus, etc.)
-Bluetooth
-USB wireless optical mouse
-Webcam
-Microphone

The onboard wireless LAN controller (Broadcom 4328) works flawlessly after installing the right driver. See below for details.

What doesn't work:

What was done to make it work:

After installing the OS, I used a wired connection to download the driver. I followed the instructions at the following link:

Additional notes:

The touchpad on this laptop stopped working a few weeks before I installed Mint; if I recall correctly, before the trackpad stopped working, it was functional under the Mint live usb. I don't believe there are any compatibility issues with it.
