  Dell (Laptop or Netbook)
  Mint (older version)
  Doesn't work as expected
What works:

Tested Mint 10 64-bit. Boot menu and memtest86+ work.

What doesn't work:

LiveDVD won't boot to a GUI in normal or safe mode. After the text mode the screen goes dark. Backlight is on but nothing is displayed. Meanwhile the DVD finishes booting and it is possible to restart the X server via Ctrl-Alt-Backspace and to restart the machine in the blind, but there's no display output at all. Playing with boot options yielded nothing.
CentOS 6.5 does boot to a GUI and seemingly works good. Mint 9 32-bit works fine as well.

Additional notes:

This computer has i7 Quad, Nvidia 3100m PCIe graphics, 4 GB dual channel DDR3.
