Scanning isn't possible without installing Image Scan!, which counts as a minor problem in my eyes. Hence I didn't rate it as "Works perfectly".
The Driver Manager sees the printer and finds two drivers: epson-201206w and epson-201202w. The installation for either of these drivers gets stuck about halfway. This is a known bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1320644
The scanner driver had to be installed separately in two different packages from http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du/02/DriverDownloadInfo.do?LG2=EN&CN2;=&DSCMI=28880&DSCCHK=ec6ec9b0ae7d86aeadf2c0b88252dbe4149a9831:
iscan_2.29.3-1~usb0.1.ltdl7_amd64.deb and iscan-data_1.29.0-2_all.deb. The scanner won't work if you don't install the latter, which also installs Epson's open source Image Scan! program.
There is a tutorial on installing drivers for this device: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/1772
