Macbook Pro 13'

  Apple (Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.3GHz)
  Mint (older version)
Works fine with some minor problems
What works:

Linux Mint 17 / 17.1 Rebecca !!(MATE edition)!!
Out the box it all works fine asides from the wireless that you have to activate yourself. By 'fine' I mean: It's a functional system that recognizes the hardware, suspend on lid close, sound, camera (install cheese or guvcview), graphics, software, etc..

!!(Minor adjustments needed for OPTIMAL performance)!!

[Same goes for Qiana]

What doesn't work:

For most macbook pro' users, the little things such as the keyboard backlight timeout, the temperature (fan wise), the touchpad gestures.. These require some manual work.

What was done to make it work:

For the keyboard backlight timeout: 'pommed' from the Synaptic Package Manage does the trick.

For the temperature (fans): 'macfanctld' from Synaptic P. M. Does the trick.

For the wireless, you might need a land connection to install/activate it. Mate Menu > Administration > Driver Manager
(Works without land connection on live session)

You can install 'tlp' for advanced power management.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linrunner/tlp
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tlp tlp-rdw

Additional notes:

I have a tutorial available on how to get Apple like touchpad gestures.
Feel free to ask any questions on the matter.
