With the Acer Aspire One 150 AOA-AW netbook the dongle is working perfectly fine. The hardware is recognized and the MicroSD memory card is found as an USB drive, too.
|What doesn't work:|
With a Dell Inspiron 1501 notebook the dongle was not working right away. After some updates it is working fine.
|What was done to make it work:|
When installing Linux Mint Helena on an DELL Inspiron 1501 Notebook the dongle was not found right away from the system. When editing the network connections and running "adding" for "mobile Internet" the dongle was found and tried to connect to the Internet. However, only after doing an update (sudo apt-get update) the connection to the Internet was successful working. There seem to be some hardware drivers required to be updated for the DELL hardware and interfaces.
The model is not the newest, but it offers one huge ... no gigantic ... advantage to many other dongles. It has an external antenna port. When living at the 'wild eastern' country side, where mobile Internet connections are only weak you need to use an additional antenna to amplify your signals. That is possible with the present dongle!
