  Sony (Laptop or Netbook)
  LMDE
  Works perfectly
What works:

Working with 64 or 32 bit distro. Connects both wirelessly and hard wired through Eth0. All input devices work except for those listed below.

The webcam under LM9, (see update below for LMDE and LM>9). I have found the drivers now and have had both still and video output through Cheese. I went to http://www.arakhne.org/ricoh/index.html for the drivers (you need two downloads)
1) ricoh-webcam-r5u870_0.11.4-0arakhne1_i386.deb
and
2) ricoh-webcam-r5u870-firmware_0.11.4-0arakhne1_i386.deb

I had to restart the system for things to work. The camera came in on /dev/video0. (There are 64 bit amd versions available too.)

LMDE & LM>9 UPDATE
==================
(From https://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/overview/)
Go to the Terminal and then type in the following...
$ sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-dev libusb-dev build-essential gcc automake mercurial
$ hg clone http://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/
$ cd r5u87x
$ make
$ sudo make install
$ sudo r5u87x-loader --reload

The loader will automatically be run on boot when it detects your webcam. (Copy the new folder in your home folder /r5u87x to somewhere save ~ just in case it disappears).

What doesn't work:

The "S1" & "S2" buttons have no function and I don't know if the "Stamina/Speed" switch works.
