What works:

Everything except the item below.

What doesn't work:

When Bios hard drive controller is set to "Raid", firmware changes are made to all hard drives installed to make them "Raid Ready", however, this renders the drive invisible to the Ubiquity instaler used in Mint and other Ubuntu derivatives.

What was done to make it work:

To clear the problem above, reset the Bios HDD controller to"AHCI " then install a new hard drive. The original drive will never beusable for installing any distro using Ubiquity.
