  ASRock (Motherboard)
  Mint (older version)
  Works partially
What works:

Everything except onboard graphics and sound.
The AGP and PCI slots work fine.

What doesn't work:

The support for the onboard SiS 741GX graphics is bad. Even an old Radeon 9250 using open-source driver performs better than the SiS card with Driver "sis" set in xorg.conf.

The onboard sound does not work. The soundcard consists of a SiS 7012 controller and C-Media CMI9761A+ codec. These two chips are both supported by Linux, but ASRock have wired them in a strange way.

What was done to make it work:

The onboard graphics is a little bit usable when booting Compatibility Mode. At least it allows all possible resolutions, where Windows did not allow me to choose 1440x900 even after the necessary BIOS update.
Compiz does not work.

Additional notes:

If you're using an AGP (4x or 8x) graphics card and a PCI soundcard, it's all working fine.
