Latitude x200

  Dell (Laptop or Netbook)
  Mint (older version)
  Works partially
What works:

Mint 6 starts and basically works but the display is sluggish.

What doesn't work:

Upon adjustment of screen brightness the mouse pointer disappears and does not return after logout/login. Full reboot is necessary to restore display of pointer. Same problem exists in Ubuntu 8.10 and Debian 5 "Lenny". Fedora-based Fuduntu 14 doesn't have this problem and although it runs as slowly as 6 & newer Mints, it's the only distro that works completely on this hardware.

What was done to make it work:

a workaround is to adjust the brightness prior to booting Mint 6, while on OS selection screen. Or just use Fuduntu 14.

Additional notes:

Latitude x200 is analogous to Gateway 200STM. Chipset is Intel 830m with integrated VGA.
