I think it would be a good idea to have Gnome-disk-utility installed by default because it can be used as a general tool to check the health of your hard drives and also format drives where necessary. I found it particularly useful because I didn't realize that my hard disk had a few bad sectors (something windows didn't warn me about :) ) and Gnome-disk utility alerted this to me! Because of it, I managed to fix up the hard drive and kept going! It is a particularly useful tool (not as powerful as GParted!) but is good for general day-to-day use. Share your thoughts!
