A tricks and tips section

I'm sure a lot of members have some tricks and tips that they use, which would not require a full tutorial to explain. A tricks and tips area of the community site would seem to be the natural home for things like these.

An example of a tip

By adding the following to /etc/fstab you can allocate 1Gig as an in memory /tmp which helps give blistering performance. To change the size to something more suited to you simply change the size parameter, for example size=512k to set a /tmp of 512KB.

tmpfs /tmp tmpfs size=1g 0 0

After a couple of days use, my /tmp had reached an enormous 192k!
