I think the same thing, for the moment only Mandriva has a Parental control software implemented.
I think linuxmint doesn't need censorship-obsessed users.
The best parental control is the parent.
BUT in many cases the parent control is very useful.
For a child who is not specifically looking for "bad things" in the network
usually such a program well helps to not surf constantly across a "bad things".
The program does not replace parents.
BUT cleverly made program (not "stupid domain blocker") can essentially assist parents in child care.
Therefore it is necessary have a similar program.
I promote this good idea.
Well, Mintnanny only block domains that you tell him to block.
A possibility to it work with a blacklist will be great.
Also as GnomeNanny it would be cool if we can block or restrict the access for some users with possibility to choose the hours.
That was my idea?
Mint already has mintnanny
Although I have no kids, I can understand the need to limit some computers to 'safe' sites.
Have you looked at site blocking features on a wireless router (like my TP-Link WR1043ND - http://community.linuxmint.com/hardware/view/1377)? On this model you can filter sites to specific computers on your network, so you can leave yourself free of restrictions but still throttle down the kids computers.
