Persistent clipboard

Please add the clipboard-daemon to the standard distro. It removes the perceived broken clipboard behaviour where closing the application you copied data from results in the loss of the clipboard contents.

Simply :
1. Downloaded the binary from http://members.chello.nl/~h.lai/gnome-clipboard-daemon/
2. Extracted it to /usr/bin
3. Open Menu/Preferences/Startup Application
4. Add a new application called "Clipboard Daemon" and browse and select /usr/bin/clipboard-daemon

The clipboard now keeps its contents when you close the source file / app.

I'm marking software inclusion requests as "Considered" and forwarding them to Clem

I also didn't know about this.

I usually use cairo-dock's plug-in 'Clipper'.
I think maybe 'Clipper' is similar to 'Glipper' which was mentioned by @blueXrider .

I didn't know about either of these. I'll be checking them out tonight. I third the tutorial suggestion.

Is this better than Glipper?

Glipper sits in the panel as an Indicator Applet and when you copy and paste it retains it until its cleared.

Perhaps this should be a Tutorial as well as an idea to include it into the standard editions.
