I promote this idea. In KDE auto mounting is easy through the settings, as well as the numlock key. There must be a way to achive the same in Cinnamon or Mate.
Yes, it is needed, this is one of the first things i do with a fresh install and takes quite some time,
i currently do this, by a shell command or ntfs-config app
blkid | grep LABEL| grep ntfs | cut -d ' ' -f 3 --complement | sed 's/: LABEL="/ \\/media\\//g' | sed 's/" TYPE="ntfs"/ ntfs-3g defaults 0 0/g'
and adding folders in media folder
PySDM make partitions mounted automatically.
Promoting. I have my documents on a partition and I have to mount it every time I need something.
