remoulder .... ts ts ts ...
http://segfault.linuxmint.com/2014/09/cinnamon-2-4-background-slideshows/ > Implemented :-D
Apperently this is comming for cinnamon, maybe 1.8 and for mate u can use this tutorial: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/997
There are programs out there that can do the job, wallch for example it's in the software center.
If cinnamon should implement this, i don't know i think they should put their time in more serious issues imo.
Besides this is not the place like remoulder already mentioned.
i promote this idea not only for cinnamon but for mate as well.
This is a good idea in any DE. I would like to see it.
I'd like this too in any DE I use. Promoting.
PS. What happened to contactted?
You can turn off wallpaper anyway. As for the feature, the KDE version has the option of setting wallpaper as either a single image or a slideshow. Since that single image can be anything, even nothing, problem solved.
As for valuable CPU? My desktop is running 6 cores at 3.2Ghz, but even my netbook handles KDE wallpaper slideshow with no effort.
Why use up valuable CPU on changing the wallpaper? o:-) It is not visible under all the windows anyway :-D
If it can be turned off completely for those of us who use the computer then fine.
I'll promote it
Thanks contactted. Appreciate it.
AlexVSharp - I installed desktopnova, activated it, configured it, but it did absolutely nothing. Pity.
dezrik - thanks for the vote. Much appreciated.
This would be a great feature on any linux mint desktop. :) And it would be nice to have it without having to install additional applications. :) Great suggestion.
AlexVSharp - I'm installing desktopnova as I type this to try. Thanks.
Remoulder - thanks, but why would they have an ideas section here if I'm supposed to put them elsewhere? I'm new to this ideas thingy. I'm used to being ignored by using Ubuntu! Is it just cinnamon ideas to go there or is there a different location for each category of ideas?
You mean make it so the background image changes upon login/every X minutes? There's an app you can install from the repos called 'DesktopNova' which does just that - just thought I'd mention it.
Cinnamon ideas should be posted at https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/908
