Dial-up modem help

Even though many have fast net connections these days, many such as myself have to rely on dial-up. It would be great if there was a tutorial or too on dial-up for mint as it took me a few weeks as a new user to get online with the communities help.

In the end I settled for a USR 5637 USB modem, which works out-of-the-box without the need to install drivers. Although that said it took me a while to track down in the Ubuntu forums that you have to remove the "modem manager" packages as it conflicts with USB modems.

With this in mind, I also think it would be good to have Gnome PPP dial installed with mint by default for those that can't get online without it.

I know it has been a year put if anybody needs to know gnome-ppp is in Linuxmint so you don't have to download it, you do have to install it though.
