Use LXDE or LXDEQT as fall back for Mint Cinnamon. Linux mint 16 is about to use open box to fall back on X when acceleration isn't there. The problem is that open box will probably not be intuitive for most users. LXDE and LXDE qt are both based on open box, and looks and works more like Cinnamon.

I think LXDE is a clear upgrade to open box.
