Burg hasn't been updated since 2011. I prefer something that has been updated recently but that looks less nicely to something that looks pretier but that hasn't been updated since ages.
I realy think this can inprove the looks of mint.
Agreed. Most of the users multi-boot and it is good to have a visually appealing OS selection process while booting.
Burg is very nice, unfortunately it's also abandoned.
Before adopting it, someone ought to start maintaining it.
Any word yet.
Lets approve this already. Every one wants this. Also ubuntu has just confirmed they are staying with grub 2. We should one up that in mint.
This is a before and after for of what this will do. Ignore the wall papers as those can be changed to anything.
Nice burg pics
Can we get this passed already. Its got high votes, and we all agree burg is just an elegant grub 2.
Is this some thing that is hard to implement?
Yes. This looks so good.
Oh, well, it's not to blueXrider, it's to idea's author.:)
I'd rather prefer to get a small nice login manager to customize appearance when you log into your system. Why change GRUB? Does anyone really look at this lines of choices and think, "Oh, well, it should be prettier"?
You really - I suppose - think in the wrong way.
There's lots of work to do instead of replacing GRUB with a kind of GRUB.:)
Know what you mean and mean what you say.
BURG stands for Brand-new Universal loadeR from GRUB. It's based on GRUB, and add features like new object format and configurable menu system.
BURG IS GRUB!
Burg is far better than grub
Agree! because BURG is more elegant for modern linux desktop
Burg is the new way.
The idea is about BURG and not grub2-gfxmenu.
Linux Mint used grub-gfxmenu before the switch to GRUB2 if I'm not mistaken, but that's besides the point. The submitter of the idea wants a better looking boot menu and BURG even tough it's just themed GRUB fills that need.
hard to find much info about this... looks to be based on GRUB (and distantly 2 as well)?
I do agree that the current Grub2 bootloader is very sterile, but I'm having difficulty finding info about this to really vote yes or no.
