LOOK:
>> “Quick-Rename” landed in Nemo. <<
Ci 17.3 is meant :-D
Dolphin dito, btw :-|
... ahm ...
reading helps sometimes:
Nemo: edit/rename = F2 ....
o oh ....
@Rebel450: Not before I wrote my tutorial about Nemo’s bulk renaming ;-)
@MagicMint:
"... you could as well hit F2, which is — Nemo’s shortcut for renaming "
=
Ouch, am embarressed....
But thanks a lot for this helpful hint -
how did you know (and me not) ??
@Rebel450: That is, it doesn’t (although it happily works on my tablet).
In a one-click setting, mark + enter just starts the default action of the selected item, and mark + space bar lets preview that item (as usual, I think). But if an item has been selected already, you could as well hit F2, which is — Nemo’s shortcut for renaming ;-)
@MagicMint:
(Talkin' bout Mac) You have to be slick - 2nd Finger touch simulates right-klick -
otherwise
click on file/folder/device and then hit enter
this also enable you to rename
Does a “long click” work with the tap to click option of touchpads ?
For nemo the right place is:
https://github.com/linuxmint/nemo
In the Cinnamon github they certainly answer. Both if an idea is great or rejected. If no answer it is probably an idea that is scheduled for implementation "eventually".
(@Hammer459: I know, it is a Nemo issue, and Nemo belongs to the Mint devs,
and these are situated on github, and from github nobody ever reacts/reply ..) dilemmma :-(
You can put this idea on github. It's a good one.
In MATE i think it is something like that click on file, wait flick on file and you enter rename. It is a good idea.... But as you know, posted in the wrong place. Should be https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues as Cinnamon is used by many distros not just Mint.
