slicktak: The user set the volume he/she wants with the volume control. Therefore Linux, or Cinnamon or whatever it's called in Linux Mint 18.3 should have a normalizing control that take the hint at the volume control and automatically reduce or cut-off any frequency that's above the set level.
That is entirely dependent on several factors.
1. The video file's volume.
2. YouTube's volume.
3. Linux Mint's volume.
4. Speaker/Headphone hardware volume.
How do you propose to query these values, and interface with the uncountable permutations that this introduces?
