I have almost the same configuration and it's working fine, you just have to quit the session and then reconnect.

It doesn't launch. I'm on Linux Mint 18.3 64 bit. Kernel: 4.10.0-42-generic x86_64 (64 bit) Desktop: Cinnamon 3.6.7
