New to the linux scene... installed this from Mint 21.3's software manager without a hitch. Ran right at 200mbps from NY (Surfshark) to SC in speedtest.net without the Accelerator on. Right about the same speed as I get in Windows using OVPN-UDP protocol. And that is using the FREE account! Couldn't be happier!
Okay people must tech illetearte because this works fine. Use the command Flatpak Install Protonvpn and it will install fine. I installed from the store as well with no issues on 21.3
As all the other reviews say, this app is garbage. Download from proton but the app is still unreliable and very poor features
Do NOT download this program here, as others say it will block your connection, I had to reinstall my system, download the program from the official proton website,!!!!
Avoid completely! As vadawala stated, it can block your internet connection completely. I wish I've read his review earlier I would save myself several hours. Maybe CLI version is better, I hope so anyway.
If app closes for any reason while connected to vpn, it hijacks the network connection, blocking all traffic permanently, even after uninstallation, whether killswitch is enabled or not. To regain internet access, you must run: sudo nmcli c delete pvpn-ipv6leak-protection && sudo nmcli c reload
I use it with my subscription. When there are connection issues the software freezes and needs a restart, other than that it works fine.
Tried to set it up 3 different times since its release, impossible to setup on Linuxmint 20.0 - 21.2
